For the first time since we've left the Canary Islands 8 days ago, this blog will have no photo attached to it. Because I don't think a photo can capture the object of today's blog.

We are now roughly half way between Gran Canaria and St Lucia. more than 1,000 nm away from any land. We haven't seen any boat in a few days. Just the sea, the sky, the clouds, the stars and a bit of sea life.

Today we are sailing pretty fast on a reach in 20-25 knots of wind. It is absolutely magic. There is a beautiful swell that you can probably only find in the middle of large oceans. The sea is navy blue, the sky is light blue with a few clouds. Big sunshine. A photo of where we are might look like we are sailing in the Med or in the Channel on a nice summery day. But we're not! We're in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and it is fabulous!
