Dangerous items on board

They say one of the most dangerous items on an Ocean going sailboat is a calendar!!!   Or a crew with a plane ticket!  I have lost sense of what day of the week it is, and have no idea of the date, off hand.
we are of course keeping a log, but my own personal method of keeping track is writing down what  I’ve made for dinners. I can then count how many days we’ve been out and can bring up in my memory what was going on around us.  Like while I made that shrimp scampi, we had one of the best sunsets,  or clearing skies after a rainy day for pasta carbanara, or sweet and sour pork after a splendid sunny day.  Cooking is a gymnastic accomplishment. I’ve got it down!!   We really need to video it!  But I don’t believe in holding back just because it’s a bit “rough”. We are having some great meals and they are highlights of our days.
I am down to 2 onions. This is on the edge of tragic. I am now  rationing onions. There is quote in a book called “On The Wind’s Way” about an old classic boat TranAtlantic sailboat race, where the author,  who I believe also cooks, says “First you chop an onion, THEN you decide what to cook” and that’s ME!!! So rationing onions is roughing it in my book.  But we will survive!!!
We are getting close to Horta! I am already starting a grocery list!!! (onions on top)  At least we have plenty of garlic!!!!
According to the IMRAY Book of Atlantic Islands, there are “Hypermarkets” in Horta. Is this where we run around frantically looking for onions and act like we are totally out of time?

Oh yeah, I did buy shoes in Bermuda.  Had to. It’s my job.
