We motored down the bay. into south winds. we motored to save time.
stopped in little creek virginia for final fuel up, but the deisel pump
at the fuel dock pumped fuel into our tank with so much pressure, 50
gallons in less than 2 minutes, that at least one inspection port on top
of thr fuel tank popped off!. after 5 hour of cleaninng and pumping out
deisel, we went on our way! we headed off shore snd got south of the bay
bridge tunnel and noticed fuel still squirting out of now several ports.
decided to turn back and deal with it. the effort to fix this problem
is now almost finished with great success, but our young crew grew
impatient and decided we were taking up too much of their time, so they
left. we actaully figured this to be the case and arranged for new crew
who will be here in 48 hours! so our new crew will be:
Capt Robert, light lunch Cindy, Doctor John and Seafaring Bob!!
so, after 20 years of talking about, 10 years of boat improvements, 3
years of aggressive boat upgrading and 4 months of 20 hour days of boat
work, whats a few extra days? THIS time we'll have a really great crew!
Hope to write more soon, I am saving the sat phone for off shore. I am
using an I pad for this entry.
Notice to Mariners, cabbage does not last long as zuchinni in 90 degree heat.
