It seems that folks are betting on what day and hour we'll actually leave
the dock. AT LEAST we've gotten this far!!!!!! It's no longer "next month,
in a few months, next Spring,... a few weeks from now ....next weekend,
Sunday...."
What's left ? ...dodger zipper sliders, dodger track, bring the dodger
over and stick it on, put the main sail on the boom, fit the battens,
and make sure the NEW mainsail doesn't interfere with the bimini top.
And more......
AND install more latch hooks, barrel bolts and inch worms (I love saying
inch worms! What I mean by inch worms is "eye straps" they look like
little stainless steel inch worms, not normally seen on racing boats, but
hey! we aren't racing!)
Inchworms
Provisioning is done!!!! Our boat is like a 47' Sucking Machine. Van loads
of stuff gets hauled down the dock, onto the boat and miraculously stowed
away into lockers , cabinets, cubbies, fridge and the freezer.
inch worms.
The cats know we are up to something. I hope they they don't jump ship!!
So, place your bet!!!! Sunday? Monday? we have over 3000 miles to
sail. We won't rush! If we rush, and something goes kaput as a result, we
can't buy back time. But at the SAME time, we need to get going to do this
thing!!!! So....
until next time,
inchworms.
