Can’t wright too much at once here....
Last night was fairly rough, but winds were still in the optimum direction. Big SW winds at 20 – 40 knots, and solid rain!  Ick. Don’t want to lose my tan!!!
But this too shall pass, and we are still at a comfortable sailing angle.  Steering is still a work out. When it’s this windy, you really have to work your legs. Imagine riding two horses at once, one under each foot, and each horse running full speed, but at slightly different cadences, so each leg moves in a different rhythm. And then both horses suddenly turn to the left and RACE uphill, and you try to turn them back downhill, but then they go TOO far downhill and you have to steer back up, and so on and so on......
We are hand steering because our Auto Pilot, Bubba, couldn’t keep up with waves this big. IN the future, we’d like to tie Bubba into our wind vane so it’d be wind steering instead of compass point steering. That is not a job to tackle out here however. But I don’t mind hand steering. Like I said, whole body workout, bikinis, etc.......
I titled this “Midnight Playlist” because my method to help time pass in the night is to get tunes in my head, and they run into each other like a unified playlist. The other night on my Midnight to 3 AM watch, Eric Clapton was wailing on his guitar singing “After Midnight”, followed by Jerry Garcia singing “A friend of the Devil”, followed by Mamas and the Papas “California Dreamin” and when I looked up into the star lit night, I got Don Mclean singing “Starry Starry Night”, followed by Simon and Garfunkle’s “Sound of Silence” which then ran into Cat Steven’s “Moon Shadow’ immediately followed by Cat Stevens “Wild World” and more....,
