> The new engine starter battery has been installed by David this morning and as you can see from the photos it was a very tight fit! So tight in fact that David disconnected several wires in error last night when he tried to fit it in poor twilight. So David was without any power last night and earlier this morning when he was able to trim the fitting heal off the new battery giving him a bit more room to play with. He also fitted new crimp connectors to the dangling loose wires before tightening all battery wires and fitting wooden braces at the sides of all three batteries and reinforcing the holding down wooden bars. The latter are very important should Eddy and David hit storm force winds as should the boat roll over these bars stop the batteries from falling out and ripping away all the wire connectors.
> It's sunny and hot here so perfect for the solar panels and within no time all three boat batteries should again be fully charged. The smaller black battery is the new engine start one the other two run the boats domestic bank but unfortunately they are not enough to power the fridge in the tropics due to the very high ambient temps. So it's warm beers for David!
