Half way through our trip we had a battery alarm go off.
The engine was no longer charging our batteries so we took as much load off them as possible by turning off the autopilot and reverting to hand steering.
Due to our plight, the Doura Marina, south of Porto, found us a birth having previously stated that they were full.
Skipper Stuart then managed to sweet talk a super-yacht engineer into having a look at our problem. The puzzle is still ongoing but we might be spending a little more time in Porto than expected while we get to the bottom of the mystery.
