Hopefully this makes it through...
Gentle winds, 8-18kts all through the night with
occasional gusts of 22.
Only problem is sea state which was about 2 to 3
metres and very steep. Not much sleep was had by any of the crew, having
been rolled around our beds the entire night. Part of the problem was not being
able to use any of the foresails. We were on a dead run and the yankee would
constantly crumple and wrap around the forestay.
Just before writing this, and after much much faffing,
we have finally managed to get the yankee out on the pole. Hopefully this will
increase both speed and stability. We will see...
Ho is just about to whip up some bacon and egg
sandwiches - best idea I've ever heard.
