After Santa Cruise we went to San Miguel via Valle Gran Rey.  San Miguel is a pure tourist development where a lot of the bar staff are English.  Mark joined us on the 23rd October and after a few drinks on the eve of his arrival it was nice to get a full authentic English breakfast on the following morning.  Due to iffy weather we stayed at San Miguel Marina a day longer than planned then sailed over to San Sebastian again.  La Gomera is our favourite Canary Island; San Sebastian is a lovely little town and the scenery inland is absolutely fantastic.

We have seen increasing numbers of ARC boats and we are now getting to know our fellow rallyers.  Bad weather is expected this afternoon with 50+ mph gusts of wind so we expect to be here for a few days more.  Yesterday we had our best day's weather for some time with unbroken sunshine.  I managed to destroy our waterproof compact Panasonic Lumix FT3 camera by snorkelling with it with the side door not securely latched shut.  Another lesson learnt; check waterproof items before exposing to water!

Next stop is back to Santa Cruz de Tenerife to provision up at the El Corte Ingles supermaket then we plan to sail to Las Palmas to do our final preperations for the crossing; it's getting closer by the day!

We will try to put some pictures on the blog in the next few days.
