We are in Cartagena for a few days following our 4 nights in Torrevieja.

During the 212 mile 36 hour crossing from Majorca we picked up another pair of stowaways; dragonflies.  This time they survived and are no doubt populating Mainland Spain with the Majorcan strain.

Torrevieja was a good stop and we also managed a day trip by bus to Murcia which, as we arrived at lunchtime during the regional holiday, was shut, including the spectacular cathedral.  We went to a very good restaurant which seem to have a second business curing hams, there were literally hundreds.

On the daysail over from Torrevieja as well as seeing the swordfish we saw hundreds of jellyfish.

We are now exploring the culture of Cartegena and we will follow up with a blog once we have moved on to Almerimar which will be either tomorrow or Monday (27th August 2012).

It is still verh hot and I have included a picture taken in the afternoon in Murcia showing 42 degrees!
