Well we've had another week in Vava'u - out
enjoying the outlying islands, no more than an hour or so apart. Here are some
more pictures..
![]() ![]() This is me on the hunt for shells and Darren being
arty - at low tide it was easy to explore the next island but 2 hours later we
would have had to swim. I love the s shaped sand spit. How lovely.
![]() ![]() Couldn't resist a picnic
opportunity.
![]() ![]() This is the view from Mounu Island Resort, you
might just make out Ripple II to the left of the anchorage - The resort itself
has 4 Bures which cost US$250 a night - there are resorts like this popping up
all over the island group.
![]() ![]() Here are a few more feast shots - we tried out a
different village. This one was a bit more traditional - everything is
natural, lots of goodies wrapped in leaves and cooked in the ground plus fresh
fuits and seafood salads - no dishes just a big bowl to wash your hands in
at the end! They brought the long "tray" in with all the food already on
it like a streacher and laid it down in front of us. A dramatic
flourish.
![]() ![]() A close up of the feast ... and the
aftermath.
![]() ![]() This was Annie being arty... and a wide shot trying
to capture how pretty it is here.
We are just about ready to set sail again,it has
been a lovely stay in this group - the nicest beaches we have seen since the San
Blas and some great anchorages with great protection and lovely and flat.
