So there I was happily reeling in a fish, he wasn’t putting up much of a fight and was now only metres from the boat,  I was definitely thinking, blackened wahoo for supper tonight, when I suddenly noticed a big fin swimming behind him, it disappeared, then reappeared, then whoomph my wahoo was gone, gone into a rather large shark !!

Once again we woke up to find flying fish all over the deck, but what’s worse is the scales they leave behind, they are everywhere and they stink. How many flying fish can you spot.

More fixes, we had to try to stop the Starlink from coming undone and add a couple of bits of protection, one on the port cap shroud to stop the spinnaker sheet from chafing on it, the other to stop the spinnaker blocks smashing chunks out of the deck.

Caroline had a busy day in the galley baking bread and cake. At one point everyone could be seen wandering round with a bit of bread and butter in their hand, fresh bread is such a treat out here. Then to use up the very ripe bananas she baked a banana and walnut cake for afternoon tea, another treat!

In the afternoon I had a fish filleting lesson from Fishy Dicky with the Mahi Mahi that John caught. I think Dicky would have got a bit more fish off than I did but not bad for a first try. The fish was not big enough to feed us all but we are hoping for starters this evening!
