A rude awakening this morning, cabin door burst open with Caroline screaming “ killer whales on the bow”. It was well worth it though, as we watched a whole school of whales firstly inspect us, no doubt to see if we were edible and then pass us by. A great display from the big guys followed as you can see from then picture below.

The whale watching was preceded by a difficult night, with heavy seas and our first call for “all hands on deck” when the spinnaker began to unfurl, not good in any conditions especially with 16 knots of wind in the pitch black, Guy handled the situation in his usual calm manner and quickly got the situation in hand and all though I say so myself i think the crew stepped up to the plate as well,

After the excitement of the whales most of the morning was spent unravelling the tangled sail, hoisting it, unfurling it and re furling it, it’s now neat and tidy and back in it’s bag.

More excitement this afternoon as we were then visited by a school of dolphins, such beautiful graceful creatures that you feel privileged that they grace you with there presence,

Suffice to say, another great day on the Moose.

More news tomorrow.
