Hooray! We successfully left Cabbage Tree Creek at Sandgate and are now sitting in the very calm and peaceful waters of the Mooloolaba Harbour. We had a great day even though we had to motor the whole way. We awoke this morning to an absolutely beautiful sunrise and headed out through the channel towards Bribie and then turning north to head towards Mooloolaba. We had a sail up but there was little to no wind and we may have only reached Bribie (as Marcel jokingly predicted!) had we not turned the motor on! So we motored for the rest of the day and pulled into the harbour this afternoon.

It was a day full of good sightings though. We spotted our first couple of dolphins just before lunch and then some more early afternoon. Naturally...by the time I got my camera out they were already gone. So I am hoping later down the track there will be more dolphins and my camera will be ready in hand! We also saw a submarine passing us by. The majority of it was under the surface of the water but we could see the towers sticking out. It was really cool! Then we passed a couple of MASSIVE cargo ships. We crossed behind them in the shipping lane and were left bouncing around in their wake but the sheer enormity of them was quite impressive.

As for the rest of the day....well we spent it relaxing, reading and chilling out. It is quite a nice feeling knowing that you don't have to be anywhere at any particular time.

As today was the first day with the motor on, Burley spent the whole day in one of the cupboards but he is now sitting quite contently beside on the galley seat.

It has been a really lovely first day and was ended with a great meal with Auntie Jan and Uncle Graham - who drove up to return the boat clock to us after uncle Graham fixed it for us last night. So we are now going to chillax and sleep and get ready for a great day of sailing tomorrow as some decent south easterlies are predicted. They will, hopefully, get us to Fraser!

Cheers for now xo

Dew on the canopy! Just as well Jon ended up making one or this would have all been in the cockpit!
