Ahoy there my friends! What an exciting start to our adventure we have had!

It all began yesterday.....with a really lovely breakfast on the boat with my Mum, my best friend Ally and their hubbies! It was a nice way to start the day and the only relaxing part of the day as I was soon to discover. We said our so longs and farewells and headed back to the house to move the furniture into storage and clean the house. I, in my own packing bliss, assumed that moving furniture and cleaning would take a few hours and we would be done and dusted by early afternoon. How I got it so wrong I have no idea but it seems I was! If it had not been for the extra hands of 5 wonderful helpers, we would have been still there today. So it was not until about 7.30pm last night that we drove out of the driveway taking the weary and hungry hoards, the cat and ourselves towards our new home.

It was so lovely to finally be on the boat - even though there was all of our stuff to unpack into the forward cabin and shopping bags of food all over the galley floor. They were to all wait as food, drink, laughter, family and friends were awaiting. It was a great way to end the day.

Finally, we were on our own, on our new home with Burley (our cat), who was determined to curl up between our heads, between our knees or in any little hole he could find. He is currently in the linen cupboard and has spent most of the day there. I am sure he will venture out sometime soon!

We arose this morning to a beautiful, cool clear day. The plan was to do some shopping, store the car and head off. Naturally, plans never work out as you plan them to! So our day, in brief, went something a little more like this......the shopping happened (by me) as Jon went to pick up Matt to give him the car, breakfast (or perhaps brunch) was eaten and then we returned to the boat. Matt and Jon were moving the boat, by holding onto the ropes (it was being moved in order to fill up the water tanks). So Matt had a long rope, Jon had a short rope and had to step over the gap in the finger. Except....well the rope was a little too short to hold onto and Jon thought he would be able to step over the wider part and ended up in the drink. It all happened so quickly that I was a little disappointed I didn't have my camera! So because his phone was in his pocket it did not survive and needed to be replaced - which is what the afternoon was spent doing. So now being late in the afternoon and a low tide (and nightfall coming) we decided that we would have off very early in the morning.

So our adventure.....well not quite started in the way we had planned but all still amusing!

We are leaving before sunrise in the morning and heading towards Double Island Point at the bottom of Fraser Island. I hope to have some real adventure stories for you next time!

Will add some pics tomorrow!
