A short 12 mile sail (with a bit of motoring) and we were at Zea marina in Athens. We had phoned ahead and booked a place, so we knew we were going to get in. The place was rammed with super yachts, must have been over 60, depending on your definition of a super yacht. But the one boat that did it for me was the J class Shamrock. She was only 5 or 6 boats along from us and I felt quite priviledged to be that close to one of the original J's. Watching the crew polishing and cleaning her all day long makes you realise how much hard work goes into keeping a boat like that in tip top condition, and she was very very shiny!
Because we got in early, we were able to take the girls to a playzone for a couple of hours, and go into Athens for a bit of sightseeing.
On Saturday we went to the Acropolis, more playzones and Giu arrived. We also took advise on a restaurant for dinner from a rather pushy cab driver, and had the worst and most expensive meal yet, another lesson learnt!
