Well , over a nice hot cup of coffee this morning , Mike and myself agreed
it was one of the top "storms" we were in ever. After i finished the blog
last night , it just got worse and worse. The winds HOWLED , the seas got
very large. We started what they call "running" , in other words going with
the wind and seas. This takes the pressure off the rig. We had a small tiny
bit of foresail out and off we flew down the waves. At certain parts of the
night the stars would appear in the heavens above but still the winds
screeched . Around 3 in the morning things started calm a little but even
so the massive seas had us getting thrown around. So with very little sleep
at first light when the winds died off we were all pretty happy. The winds
coming from down South have made it very cool. The tips of my ears and nose
were numb and Mike had us placing bets on who spots an Ice Berg. We did see
two Royal Albatross today , No mistaking these beautiful birds , the are
HUGE , and seem to just glide over the oceans. Wind have died down allot
this evening and we have had to run the engines to make some headway. Still
some massive 2 story walls of water that come through in sets. Very
intimidating , but the boat just floats on over them.
