As I write this I can hear the wind howling outside , the odd wave crashes
into the side of the boat sending spray everywhere. 40 Knots of wind and
some waves that even the most hardened sailors would gulp about. Poor
Conner , trial by fire as they say. This morning was beautiful , winds were
great , sun was out , albatross were flying ( looking for Mike again). And
now I kinda wish that it was darker outside , sometimes its better not to
see the size of the waves. The combined effect of wind screeching in the
rigging , the waves hissing and growling and the clatter of things getting
flung around the boat is perfect for some horror movie. At least its
calming down ( I hope ) A squall earlier had a total white out , felt like
someone had dropped one massive bucket of water over the boat. Am I moaning
? Not quite , kinda fun , its Ok for a few hours but when it goes on for
days that becomes a bit much. This is what blue ocean sailing is about ,
Hold on to your hats.
