Its pretty extreme down this side , One moment there is wind , and a hour
later there is none. We had to motor almost the whole day , Sun was out ,
and the seas had calmed to a panic. I am still amazed by this Albatross ,
He keeps on hanging around the boat , swooping and soaring away , when he
see's Mike he seems to be satisfied and disappears for a few hours. A
school of Dolphins came bounding up to the boat. Yes , this far out and boy
were they moving fast. No time to mess about with the boat either , they
just cruised on past. We were obviously not going in their direction or
they had other things to do. Weird thing is they were heading South east ,
not much down that side except ice bergs . Amazing that they will be this
far away from Land. Another interesting thing is we "hope" to have left the
last of the Augulas current behind yesterday. On our instruments we can see
our boat speed in tandem with our actual speed over ground ( there is a
difference ). We can then see how strong the current is. We were sailing
around 4 to 5 knots yesterday and only making 3 to 4 Knots headway. Then
all of a sudden the current lets go and when we sail 5 knots we are coving
5 knots . So we just hope that is the last of the current.
