We all kind of fantasised about this part of the trip. Our first sight of
land in a month would be blessed with sunshine and light winds. NOPE. From
about 3 in the morning the rains came down. Monsoon type rains , buckets
and buckets of water just falling from the sky. We collected around 100
Litres , Mike made an Impromptu washing machine out of an old Basin. . The
water would stream down off the roof , into a home made water catcher and
into this old black basin. The rocking of the boat was what "washed" the
clothes. The winds turned onto our nose in the Indian Oceans last joke. It
was almost if this ocean was saying " hey hold on a few , i am no finished
with you yet" . A cyclone forming below us we were / are hope to round the
corner and head into the Malaca straights before this cyclone makes its
appearance around Monday. So after having to Motor with BOTH engines for a
hour we broke free of a super squall and headed towards the corner of
Sumatra. Loads of ships around , AIS ( Automatic Identification System )
makes it so much easier to spot ad avoid ships. Only 35 Miles to go before
take the corner and head down Malaca to Singapore.
