I really don't want to curse it , but today was the first day since the
start of this trip that we actually had a beautiful day. Light winds hd us
zipping over the water , clear skies , makes you forget about all the
horrid weather we have been having. Last night i was stuck at the helm
hand steering the yacht through torrential rain. Problem is that the rain
hits with a gust , so you have to furl the sails in , then it buckets down
and the wind dies. The boat then looses steerage as it has no momentum.
You start the engine and have to hand steer her back on course. Fun and
Games 2 o clock in the morning. I was shivering and shaking when Mike took
over , my Foul weather gears pockets were filled with water. I was
drenched to the bone. This morning the boat looked like a Chinese Junk
with all the wet washing hanging on the railings. We pass just South of
Diego Garcia tomorrow , just hope the British Navy don't start using us as
Target Practice .
