good evening

skipper and I are sharing two watches this evening. Its like a bonding session working together in the gloom.. And the gloom is a little strange because its supposed to be full moon tonight which is better for me to see as its bright but as luck would have it there has been a full lunar eclipse. Its quite an amazing sight-- like putting a bag of soot over the moon-- but a s soon as skipper saw how dark it was he suggested we work two shifts togethewr-- i think the Morocco incident has unnerved him

This morning I had the early watch 6am to 9 am.. It was lovely and light and quite warm so i had on my shorts and a t shirt and was quite happy. my thoughts were turning to being back at home and thought a little exercise may be a good thing whilst on watch. The boats not big but at the aft (back ) is a large open area and the backstay - a metal wire that runs from the top of the mast to the back of the yacht to keep the mast stable- is anchored. its a thick sturdy piece of wire and im always holding onto it to keep my balance Anyway this morning i had on my ipod listening to bit of Adele and singing away and thought dance aerobics may be a good idea.holding onto the backstay i was twirling all over back and forth and i was quite into it. Just at one of my more interesting manouvres a mix between pole dancing and morris dancing the skipper poked his head up from the saloon. he watched for about 10 seconds and retrated vey quickly utternig only the single word " astounding"

he may think me a little strange but im beginning to worry about him.. In the beginning he seemed to wear a checked type of shirt every day - one you might wear to go camping He said it was a good shirt because it rreminded him of home.. Well now hes started to wear pyjama bottoms all day on the boat---im definatley not going to ask him what these remind him of but at his first review im going to have to say something

we are only 2 days from italy and sheila and marina form cortina are patiently awaiting our arrival-- i cant wait

a big mention tonight to james granddad in australia who reads the blog. Hes a good lad your grandson-- got a lot to learn but he'll get there!!!!
