Good morning

our position today at 1100 is

38.10.09N 009.15.70

I hope this puts us just past lisbon on the west coast of Portugal.. thanks to Jason for pointing out my previous error- navigation and numbers are not my thing!( happy birthday Olivia)

I did not make an entry yesterday because we had a little trouble.. We started the journey as 5 crew and are now 3. it turns out James the skippers legendary attention to detail ( he wrote that on his cv) is a mere figment of his own imagination. we had on board an illegal immigrant and his lovely wife who we had to offload into Europe without incurring the wrath of the portugese immigratioin officials. A lot of time and energy were spent making cunning plans but in the end Inspector Pedro in Lisbon had a dinner appointment and left his office early and gave his clearance to our crew to land via mobile phone from the car! We wish them both luck with their lives in Ireland

It was a pretty tense moment in the immigration noffice only made worse by the skippers ill timed and clumsy chat up lines to Pedros assistant-- im going to have to speak to him about this problem he has

This morning we three have cleaned and rearranged the boat and are motoring south and should reach the southern most point of Portugal by 10 pm and then we turn east for gibraltar and the med

Our new watch system of three hours on 6 off watch has started and i got 3-6 tonight so its new territory for me. They dont know about my terrible eyesight -- I think its better that way

Today i have to thank Sheila for helping so much yesterday. im missing you should be there in time for the ponza festival

keep well everyone
