Nimble Ape II
Chris and Jules Stanham
Thu 26 Nov 2009 12:43

It is noon on the second day and here’s our first entry from Nimble Ape at sea.

The boat is handling well and top speed recorded so far is 12.1 kts surfing down a wave.  We are 120 miles south of Tenerife and 120 miles west of the Moroccan coast and we made 177 miles in 24 hours which is pretty good.  The apes are beginning to adjust to life onboard and getting to grips with cooking in a seaway.  My (Chris) dinner ended up in the sink last night after a particularly unfavourable lee lurch, but fortunately I managed to rescue it.  Kevin slipped off his bunk after a similar roll to starboard,  Ian has been entertaining us by trying to teach Newman cockney rhyming slang.

And for the Americans:  Happy thanksgiving from all of the Apes.

Next update noon 28th weather permitting.
