Actually we are just over the border in Marina Alcaidesa but as you can see from the photo below we really couldn't be any closer. We arrived as planned on Friday 22nd July 2011 but had no internet access until today. The final leg from Chipiona to Gib was a story of two halves. Five hours of 20 knots bang on the nose in a significant swell wasn't very pleasant. As we rounded the corner to Tarifa the sea state settled and wind dropped to around 15 knots but of course from a much more comfortable direction.

The toughest and most demanding leg of our passage to Corsica is now over. It's been a hard 12 days and things definitely haven't gone to plan, but some valuable lessons have been learnt and we are now in the Med!

Here's a summary of the Darthaven to Alcaidesa leg.

Departed 12.07.11
Arrived 22.07.11
1183nm over 136.26hrs at sea
Average speed 8.7kn
Maximum speed 15.2kn

Human batteries are being recharged ready for the next leg to Mallorca!
