Isle d'Ischia to Port Misseno 7-7-2007

Simon caught the ferry Naples today to head back for his flight in Rome, the ferry passed me as I was sailing to the next port to collect some fuel, he was on the bow giving the royal wave.

I have sailed approx. 25nm to a place called Porto Misseno where it was possible to pick up a mooring buoy and finally succumbed to paying 30 Euros for the buoy after several failed attempts to find a good spot to anchor in the dark with strong kabatic winds blowing off the hills.

On the way to Porto Misseno there were five dolphins swimming off my bow for about 30 minutes, it was a very calm afternoon and unfortunately not much wind so I had to motor most of the way.

The next step is to head south to a place called Tropea which will be the last stop before heading through the Messena to the Ionian Ocean and southern Sicily.
