Hardly dare say this but we are enjoying an incident free 24 hours!

The dip South to retain the strong breeze appears to have paid off as we are
stonking along averaging almost 7 knots - 164 miles through the water in 24 hrs.

Clocks have been put back another hour but body clocks dominate as the off
watch crew hit their bunks almost immediately after supper at 2100 hrs -
must be the sea air and nothing to do with age or wine consumption. Whilst
the watch system allows plenty of time for sleep, the rolling boat motion
down wind often makes it interrupted but both are easier now.

On deck at night it is pleasantly warm and hardly necessary to wear a shirt.
Before the moon came up it was excellent for star gazing; names too
numerous to mention, yet with short term memory loss , likely to be
forgotten by morning. Though struggling, the tutor is doing well and
meeting the Astro/Nav government target for an educationally subnormal
class.

A message left out at the change of watch reads, " Skipper, Don`t change the
sail. Its set up just as the sleeping crew would want." I suppose this is
what to expect on an over 60s outing.
