We continue to head in a north-easterly direction and have picked strong
north-westerly winds earlier than expected gusting up to 28knots.. These
winds are driving us along at up to 9 knots.
In slack winds on Tuesday, we motored through the day and all through the
night and it was not until this morning, we were in a position to turn off
the engine and sail. The engine had charged the batteries to 85% of their
capacity. Over a 2.5hour period sailing, the charged detiorated by just 5%.
The engine was restarted and running at 1000 revs, recharged the batteries
back up to 85% in just under 30 minutes. This exercise together with some
other contingency planning gave us the confidence to progress on towards the
Azores.

Tony, our chef extrordinaire, cooked up a dinner of Parmesan Breaded Chicken
and a mixed salad which we all enjoyed. Unfortunately, Tony was not feeling
under the weather with motion sickness but has recovered well today.
Both Johnny and Tony have had fishing lines out trailing behind the boat but
no strikes as yet - we live in hope!!
