Beginning of 2008 Season.

After a fairly frantic three weeks work, Hiltgund has been painted and varnished and is ready to go in the water.  Huge thanks to Jasper D & Bill M for all their hard work – otherwise it would probably have been 4 or 5 weeks sanding, painting and varnishing for the skipper!

Successfully launched and now loading up with gear.  Very short passage round from the boatyard into the Canal Basin with the help of Colin Tindal.  Fantastically efficient job in the Canal Basin where I managed to back the car to within 6 feet of the boat and was then helped by Colin and his wife Jane to get everything on board in next to no time.  Getting it all stowed took a little longer!  The Tindals came for a well deserved thank you G&T – first hospitality aboard this season.

Dear old Hiltgund is gleaming after her new paint and varnish, though the rather murky photos I took this morning don’t really show that off!  New rigging on the mast looks good though maybe it’s a little too taut.  Time to go sailing to find out!!
