Enjoying mixed weather – some excellent, plenty of breeze with occasional outbreaks of traditional West Coast weather.  In the words of Jeremy Jameson (who first crewed on board Hiltgund when she was called Pegasus at Dartmouth in 1947), “Above average for the West Coast!!”  Some wonderful other boats to look at.  In some respects, Adix is the star of the show because of her size and elegance, though she herself is not taking part in the racing.  She is acting as mother ship for various boats which are participating.  Great to see several Fife yachts here including The Truant (back home after a triumphant week at the Fife Regatta), Mikado and Ayrshire Lass.  Our old sparring partner Innismara just squeaked over the line ahead of us on Friday, so we had high hope of beating her on handicap as she usually gives us time.  This was not to be as the delightful eccentricities of the Crinan Classic handicap system actually had us giving her time!

An afternoon of occasional squalls, rain and flat calms gave way to one of those classic West Coast evenings.  After a turn ashore, we returned to Hiltgund on her mooring at Crinan Boats for dinner aboard, most of which was taken in the cockpit as we admired the sun setting over the Gulf of Coryvreckan.  Two more days of racing to go, so lots of fun ahead.

Crew aboard: Chris Perring, Andrew Sackett, Jeremy Jameson and arriving in time for supper and the next two days, Don Roberts.
