We fought what should have been a slackening ebb for over an hour to get far enough through the Corryvreckan to see south into the Bay of Pigs.  With 5-6 knots of tide against us, progress was as times painfully slow and the confused swirling water made it quite difficult to keep the boat going in the right direction.
