0340hrs Monday 17^th Sept 2007

Big news – wind at last! 18- 20kts of wind and we are running towards Lanzarote under a broad reach. Another dark night – once the moon disappeared. Had one of those amazing congruence of events about an hour ago when three boats all came within a mile of each other in the middle of nowhere! The hearts were pacing for a few minutes. We are 26nm’s from our first waypoint 10nm’s off the North shore of the Island and currently we are closing at 7.7kts. We started to see the loom from the orange lights on Lanzarote about 10 mins ago…..land ahoy!
