We have had an exhilarating last 24 hours. With strong winds on our beam its felt like a down hill sleigh ride at times and very exciting to drive. Gull is not a particularly fast boat but we did hit 10.4 knots at one point! We have covered 630+ miles since we left Las Palmas and closing in on our quarter way point which we will pass during the course of today. Spirits on board are high, in part as a result of the fast speeds and in part as a result of the new roster which is going very well.

We will be attempting repairs to the pole fitting today so fingers crossed. Some interesting updates from ARC Control this morning, a rendezvous has been organised with AAG Big One to take off injured crew member while another boat Tallulah was boarded by 2 immigrants last night and are now being held under the control of the crew. It seems further immigrants remained nearby on their craft. Tallulah is now awaiting arrival of a Spanish Naval Vessel. We haven’t checked but assume they are much closer to the African coast then we are and probably further south. Their blog might make interesting reading!
