Dec 11th – 14:00 UTC – Day 17 (Ship’s time 11:00) (resent as we understand it was not posted!)

Let’s start with the fatigue – we are tired! Last night was another fast night for us with good winds and clear skies. Unfortunately running downwind as we are, makes for a constant, decidedly uncomfortable roll which makes sleeping very difficult. Still, we are moving at a good pace and our jury downwind rig is working well. As I write, we are 341nm’s out and estimating an ETA some time Thursday afternoon. If we do, our passage time will be just over 18 days which would be fantastic for a boat our size. As ever, much will depend on the wind and breakages between now and the finish line.

We remain well provisioned and are continuing to eat well. Louis hit the chorizo for the first time last night (we have a lot on board!) to prepare an excellent pasta dish. Lunch today will be hotdogs while as yet we are undecided on dinner tonight – oh the excitement!

Temperatures down below are a steady 29c which can be stifling particularly at night when we run with all hatches shut.

Minds on board are now firmly focused on cold beer in Rodney Bay!

A big congratulations to Ciara for participating in the Hallelujah Concert in Dublin on Sunday – what a star!
