Erasmos left Gibraltar at 8:50 am on the 3rd.  With tide in our favour and current and wind against us we struggled out of the harbour and into Gibraltar Strait.  About 2:00 pm we made the decision to cross the shipping lanes with all the freighter traffic.   We then hugged the coast of Africa until we cleared the entrance.  Set course almost due west.  Early this morning we finally got enough wind to shut the engine off and proceed under sails alone. At the moment we have a light breeze and are proceeding at 4.7 knots.  Nice and sunny and all is well with everyone.
