We are still pinching ourselves as we have made it!  It was an idea that came from Clare in 2021 as we came via Greece to the UK and wanted to spend more time in the Mediterranean.

We also wanted to promote good causes as part of the adventure and were so happy to have Katy on board and be able to raise awareness of RP and RetinaUK.  Katy was an amazing crew member, helming, trimming and was a huge assistance in sorting out the menu and food for the trip.  Katy has a page to support RetinaUK, https://www.justgiving.com/page/katy-newitt2023 .

We have always been passionate about the ocean and plastic is a big issue.  Therefore we were so happy to be introduced to the Eyesea team and app and used Version 2 during our trip to catalogue plastic waste that we saw.

Thanks to Jake, Simon and Vlad for joining us on the adventure.  It was fun!

We would also like to thank Pete and Chris Sanders and all the team at Sanders sails.  The sails were amazing and delivered at all times in very tough conditions (we saw over 30 kts many times and 45 in the electrical storm off Oman).

Thanks also to the Sailing Vision Trust and to the work they are doing.  For more information see www.sailingvision.org .

We have had a lot of support from our family and are looking forward to sailing Diablo in the Mediterranean and beyond.

Now heading back to Dubai to see our granddaughters, family and Bertie the corgidor.
