In the afternoon the wind steadily increased from the north, earlier and stronger than the forecast. Leaving us 120 miles of upwind sailing remaining.

The nights were very cold with the last night super cold with Doug using blankets and a sleeping bag on deck to keep warm. Clare spending the nights down below. Chatting from the companionway on what an adventure it had been.

As we closed in on Cyprus we were hoping the wind would decrease, but no, the wind increased to 20kts+ making the last sail quite hard work. But we are well used to this wind strength and the sea state was much much easier than the Red Sea and gulf of suez.

We headed into the Ayia Napa marina and were amazed at how easy it was to get it. Plenty of staff and a RIB to help us moor. Customs and immigration were extremely efficient and we were soon heading off to our berth.

The marina is brand new and absolutely fantastic. Great facilities and friendly staff.

We planned to have 2 days sorting out the boat and giving her a wash down. Drying all sails, etc.
