Morning all

Well the grief of last weeks head bashing round the NW tip of Spain is temporarily forgotten as we progress across the 'empty quarter' of Biscay.,
We saw no other sign of human life, ecept the odd plastic bottle, from around 4 yesterday eveing until 11.00 this morning when 3 ships went sailing by - en route Bilbao?

We were a bit optimistic with our 'Yippee' as the wind died over the evening and we have been motoring almost all night, which was not totally unexpected having looked at the weather.

We have though had the most fantastic displays of acrobatics from several pods of dolphins, who have kept us amused, as well as in awe of their ability to pass withing inches of each other, the boat and the keel without nhitting anything!

For the skipper the highlight came at around 05.00 when we were visited by a small pod - still dark enough for their outline to be seen clearly in the phospherence under water, and light enough to see them as they jumped!

By the way ships time is EST so one hour ahead of BST.

Hopefully we are due into La Rochelle tomorrow morning, although we will probably wait outside at Ile d'Oleron until the afternoon for the tide to come up a bit - as Candida's 2.3 metres can be a tight in port de Minimes.

More in due course
meanwhile a couple of photos of some of our entertainers!
