After a very windy night with gusts of over 30 knots the wind had really dropped by this morning.
We left Port Joinville marina on Ile d'Yeu just before 7.30am in a north westerly F3 sailing under full main with the genoa poled out. The wind backed progressively, as forecast though didn't increase beyond F4 inspite of F6-7 being forecast for the afternoon, and we hoisted the spinnaker with around 10 miles to run.
We anchored in Fier d'Ars on the north of Ile de Re at 3pm, the wind timing its arrival with ours, reaching the F7 that had been forecast.
Needless to say the boys were keen to go ashore so the tender was launched for a crepe finding expedition!
