We have finally arrived in Bridgetown!! It took 16 days and 5 hours from La Gomera, and we recorded 2831nm on the log. We used the engine for a total of 10 hours and all in all we're really happy with how the whole passage went.

We hadn't told the boys we were close to arriving - they were really happy being underway and we didn't want to interrupt the routine they had established. They had been up on deck for about 2 hours yesterday and still neither of them had noticed Barbados loomimg ever closer so they were quite surprised when we finally pointed it out to them!

The most daunting part of the whole trip was the 90 minutes or so we had to spend in the deep water harbour yesterday while checking in. We were moored alongside a concrete wall, surrounded by cruise ships and there was an awful swell- we were really concerned that Bonaire would get damaged. Once we escaped the deep water harbour we anchored in Carlisle Bay where it was lovely to see some familiar faces. We all went straight in for a dip, the water being incredibly warm. There are turtles swimming around in the anchorage! Last night we slept like logs, and the boys were in swimming before breakfast this morning...I think they like it here!

I'll try to post some photos of the trip over the next few days....
