This is the only refuge near to the canal.  A very nice marina but the people who took over the boatyard were terrible and I cancelled my haul out.  They (Lyman Morse) have since departed and I have been given credit for helping their departure!  There is a good cruising community in the marina and we have Pot Luck nights and a Chili cooking competition.  I take the opportunity to go through the canal on a friend's boat to get the experience.  A trip well worth doing.
I decide to go to Ecuador where the climate is good and it is not too far off the route to Galapagos.  I can also leave my boat here and go to Peru.
