15 days already on board, after the first busy week, we are know in week were waiting until Godot could be applicable.
Yesterday, we left at 10.45 LT our anchorage and set course to Uruguay. The first maneuvering with the vessel went well and we safely went passing the breakwaters at 11.10.
At 11.25 we started our seapassage of 16 days. It went well the first half hour, good speed for only 60% pitch. I already received from the Chief Engineer the remark not to increase more due to high temperature cooling water. At 12.15 suddenly the engine stopped, no engine available. We let go the vessel till all speed was out of the vessel and dropped anchor, waiting for back an engine. After 1 hour, suddely we have back the main engine running, it appears a fault in a temperature sensor. We had a spare and replaced the sensor.
13.30 we restarted our voyage, but not even 40 minutes later, back the same problem, back anchorage and waiting at least 1 hour before we had back a main engine.
Now we are back at the outer anchorage of Panama, Christobal. Today the technicians attended the vessel and are trying to find a solution.
Lot of new unknown items came at out, lot of things to think about and adjust our voyage plan and intentions.
We will most probably do a stop at Willemstad, Curacao , in order to take some additional food stores, gasoil and filters.
This start to be a long delivery with everyday a new issue to solve.
Keep you informed,
