As was suspected, we are still in port. My relieve has been delayed to the next port, following planning, expected to be next saterday.
Lot of problems were found but the solutions as always decided on board, temporarely . The commercial impact has taken the advance instead of the rational way of thinking.
Nobody likes to loose a client, but the question is, where is the limit. In my opinion , the limit is passed and solving problems with temporarely solutions doesn't warranty the safety.
Certainly when a vessel is in port and you can apply to the correct solutions.
My disappointment is very high, I could suspect that some rational way of thinking in Europe was a standard.
All European companies have ISO certifications, put safety high in their flag, all have lot of procedures but what is the sense to have procedures if all the time you allow changes.
In the ISM manual it's called Management of Change. If you can't solve the problem properly, you apply to a change where you calculate the risk and apply the temporarely solution.
This is certainly here on board the case. What's the chance the vesssel arrive in Valencia without any other unexpected stop, is very uncertain.
Tomorrow new seatrails and than waiting for the last spare parts, expected to arrive on Wednesday evening.
Thursday morning, next seatrail and sailing to Fujerah on Friday. This the actual plan.
We wait, ..., already 24 days.
