Tuesday 7th November – Wednesday 8th November
Continued sailing overnight Tuesday. Lots of squalls around but managed to
avoid all except one. Think we just got the edge of it as the wind backed 90
degrees until it had passed, and the wind increased to about 25kn. Talking to
other boats during the day. some had 50kn of wind in the squalls, which is a bit
daunting. Can usually see them coming as there is moonlight for most of
the night, but can’t always avoid them.
Sailed all day until about 5 pm then the wind dropped and we’re now
motoring. If we have to continue tomorrow then we will have to think about going
into Bermuda to refuel. Tried fishing today but all we caught was some pretty
yellow sea weed.
The weather continues to be very warm, and sunny during the day. The
temperature at night is mild which we hadn’t expected.
Here’s hoping for a quiet night with a good breeze ad no
squalls.... |
