Steady as she goes!
Things could get a bit hairier from tonight as we are on the edge of the ITCZ convection zone (the doldrums) which will mean cloud with rain and squalls. We have been making 290T for most of the day but have now gone to 280T which will take us too far to the west. So we will gybe soon which may take us closer to or into the convection zone.
Last night Annie was claiming the discovery of two new stars in the North West sky. Fairly low down they each appeared to have a red and green flashing light. Their position didn’t change however and they didn’t behave like moving aircraft. We couldn’t make it out and after an hour or so they both disappeared………
What we didn’t have last night was a return of the birds. We were ready to repel all boarders but not a sign. Not even a squawk in the darkness.
EmilyLuna is within 50 miles now. So close that Des is sending out a combined weather outlook. This morning Des was outlining the position with the convection zone. There are gaps in the cloud cover that in theory you could aim for but “man plans and the gods laugh”.
