Arrived at the CVD yacht club at 1200 after a good overnight sail under genoa only to try and minimise rolling! Had an unexpected brush with small fishing boats. We noticed one about half a mile away with a large Brazier burning on the back and then suddenly they all switched lights on and there were blue and orange flashes all around! Annie then heard banging on the hull and we feared we had snagged a net. There was no other indication and then the first light revealed two flying fish that must have landed on the deck just as we were swerving around the fishing boats. Phew!

Two flying fish had also landed on the deck the night before when I was below. It sounded like people walking all over the deck - another pirate scare. How easily spooked we are!

Very hot here…………..

Off for a shower now at the clubhouse and may then head into Dakar to sort out immigration and customs.
