Day 16 : 15.12N 54.50W

Elixir - Ovni
Richard Merrick
Tue 8 Dec 2009 11:23
Finally, stormy weather all around us and nothing
over us! Elixir is benefiting from good strong (albeit managable!) winds and we
were sailing for a few hours last night at an average speed of over 8 Knots!
Excellent progress made. Sunset was memorable, setting amongst the squalls on
the horizon, enjoyed from afar!
We had a brilliant night's sailing, with fair and
constant winds. Clear skies and with a moon that was late on parade. This left
the clearest display of stars that we have seen so far! Amazing!
Beautiful sunrise this morning and the wind is just
right for the spinnaker again- looking forward to racking off another 100 miles
quickly! 356 Nm to go and counting! A mini upbeat celebration this morning with
sausage and poached egg breakfast!
Still no sign of any other yachts- must be over 5
days now with seeing another yacht or hearing one on the VHF.
Elixir continues to gracefully deliver us closer to
land.
