Day 15 : 15.36N 52.13W
Elixir - Ovni
Richard Merrick
Mon 7 Dec 2009 12:21
Today has been another day of excellent sailing,
Elixir and her crew are back on form with the Spinaker up at first light and
down just after sunset we are making good progress towards the finish and with
less than 500 miles to go, we are all excited about landfall but aware that our
adventure will be partly over and that sailing like this is a once in a lifetime
opportunity. Having said that, the crew have worked very well together and
enjoyed the trip so it hasn't put us off sailing or each other, who knows what
the next proposal will be??!!
After some threat of thunder storm activity
yesterday we took the precaution of storing our back up electrics in
a lightening proof place, which is apparently the oven. Having done this
our Skipper went on to prepare an excellent Macaroni Cheese supper only to find
afterwards that the GPS was nicely warmed up and while it was safe from
lightening, suffered a bit of a roasting.
We continue to look after Elixir well and her
us.
