We are now anticipationg our arrival with a mere
600 miles to go and counting, this hopefully means that providing everything
goes well, we have 4 days of good sailing to go. Supplies on board are fine and
we are now working the water maker hard to keep fresh water up to a comfortable
level.
Today has been back to the good old sailing we had
a few days ago with constant 20ish knot Easterly trade winds which is perfect.
The wave direction is definatley a bit random and as they are also fairly
big it makes it difficult to sleep, cook, eat. That said we have had two weeks
of practice and I swear I could hold a cup of tea on Alton Towers Nemesis roller
coaster and not spill a drop.
It exciting to think that some of the other Yachts
are already in and that we will be coming back to civilisation soon, altough we
have been sailing among lots of other boats throughout the voyage they have
been out of sight and contact so we are now looking forward to arriving in St
Lucia where i'm told you can smell the BBQ's and hear the welcome parties as you
enter Rodney Bay and we can catch up with the other Yachts.
Can't wait, but before that we have still a
substantial 600 mile journey which, to put things into perspective is the
equivalent of a trip from England to Portugal.
Elixir continues to look after us
well.
