A view from the top of Erice near the city of Trapani. While in Trapani, we took the cable car up to the top of Erice, a ancient city built on top of the hill. We were surprised to find that it is still a functioning city & not just "ruins". After a picnic lunch at the base of the castle, we spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the maze of streets then returned via cable car to Tramani...no, we didn't do the walk, it's already getting quite hot! A taste of things to come as the temps continue to rise during July & Aug.
